Received this email just a few minutes ago. Suddenly remembered that I have to be down at the Open House 2008. As a NTU Ambassador. *grins*

This year’s Open House takes the “Discover” theme as we integrate L.I.F.E.@NTU (where Learning Is Fun and Exciting @ NTU), Discover Engineering @ NTU, Discover Science @ NTU and Discover URECA @ NTU for a unified and synergistic branding and campaign.

Nanyang Auditorium – showcases the vibrancy of the research culture in NTU heralded by Discover Engineering @ NTU, Discover Science @ NTU and Discover URECA @ NTU
Our students, led by the NTU Students’ Union, will be participating L.I.F.E.@NTU2008, in no small ways! To inject elements of fun, excitement and festivity, they will organize stage games and roving performances to showcase student clubs and societies, lifestyle etc. Of noteworthy is the fact that all the carnival booths will be run by our very own entrepreneurial NTU students. Finally, visitors are enticed to stay longer at our Open House with sure-win lucky dip, hourly lucky draws and a Grand Lucky Draw as well as many other goodies!
We warmly invite you and your family to come and join us for a day of fun and excitement. Do remember to show your Nanyang hospitalities to all our guests.

Cowboybar Rebirth!
One year plus ago, I joined this online community known as the Cowboybar. It is through this community that I came to know many many good friends, ie,

-SassyJan (though I was a reader of her blog for quite some time, it is the bar that allows me to meet up with her)

And many many more that I cannot keep track of. To some, maybe they will say that our friendship is superficial because it is only online. But what do you know?!
Besides chatting online, we do come out for outings such as dinner or drinks. These people comes from all backgrounds. Hence, I actually learnt a lot of valuable lessons from them. It is something that school can never teach you.
Now, the Bar has been reborn. Today is the first day of rebirth! It used to be a closed community. Exact reason I do not really know, but, to me, being a closed community allows us to foster our friendships and keep in touch with everyone easier. And Zeus get to decide who gets to join.
But now, good news is that CowBoyBar is now re-opened for membership registration for a limited period only. For an introductory period only, all applications will be approved and granted Grasshopper Status.
For newbies, here’s what to expect.
- If you an unregistered visitor, you will be able to view and read some of the thread categories but you will not be able to comment in any of them.
- Upon approval of your application, you will be granted Grasshopper Status where it is a probationary membership of sorts. We are looking for members who will be active in the CowBoyBar. As with all forums everywhere, we more often than not, get people who signed up and never to return after a couple of weeks when the euphoria is dissipated and the dust is settled. That means more clutter that the Mods will have to clean up.
- There is no hard and fast rule to how to get promoted to Gunslinger Status which effectively is full membership. However, being an active member is generally a very good rule of thumb as well as meeting the rest of the BarFlies in person when we have outings or events.Once you are a GunSlinger, the rest of the forum will be accessible to you and you will have more areas to chat and explore.
So, what are you still waiting for?! Come and join the big family now!

Hall XI camp!
After my HSS camp,
I took a one week break and promptly attended my Hall camp,
so as to get to know the people in my hall,
and hopefully,
my rommie.
Alas,
that was not to be,
as my roomie did not attend the camp.

But,
The camp was still as fun!
As I forgot to take out my camera again,
I only have photos on the last day.
But overall,
The camp was really fun!
We played some mild ice breaker games and learnt alot alot of cheers!
There was this Lao Beng character also!
Super funny guy!

While holding his slipper in his hand swinging wildly!
Hah.

2nd day,
we played this game known as record breakers!
Through a series of games,
we have to clock the :
most no. of people to squeeze into a toilet cubicle (28),
fastest time to finish a charade game,
blah blah blah..
And my personal favourite and Thoren’s proud?
The Mudslide station!
The programmers put a big canvas sheet on a slope,
pour soap water down and sqeeze conditioner on us!
We have to get the most no. of people up the slope within 15 mins!
The previous group that came before us clocked 340+ people.
We were stressed by their record but pledge to try our best!
Our record?
A whooping 515 people!!!
Woohoo!!!
Worship us!!
That was really a fantastic job!
Though all of us ended up being muddy and some got scratches and stuff,
everyone was proud of our record and it was worth it!
3rd day:
We went on our city hunt!
quite tiring compared to the one in HSS,
because,
for this one,
we did alot of running as the stations are centralised,
while the one in HSS was alot of travelling,
from west to north to central to south to east to…..
Though we ended up last,
we were not discouaged,
most credit comes from our OGL, Crystal, AGL, Ansel, and all the seniors!
They gave us unlimited amount of encouragement to keep us going!

I know I have not blogged for quite sometime yet again.
Since I woke up like super early today,
(woke up at 915am when my lect starts at 330pm)
I shall update about my Faculty camp and the outing that followed!

On the first day,
when we hardly know each other,
but I have already gotten myself 2 new best friends,

We went to Sentosa on the 4th day of the camp,
with most of us already sun-burnt from the pool games,

Well,
It was that particular day in Sentosa,
during which we had to play lots of beach games,
some with flour and water.
So bits of flour got onto my hair,
and mixed with sand and water,
became a disgusting mess.
This woman here,
took some hand soap from the toilet and start washing my hair for me!
And even helped to wash my tee, which was sandy.
Just like what my real Mum will do can!
And so,
she became my Mama Joan!

As promised,
the Underwater World trip with the Princesses!
The 1st outing I planned since leaving school almost half a year ago.
Not that I am lazy,
just that I hate it when they just rely on me to get things done.
I hate their wishy-washy attitude.
But,
I still love them.

the one who is late have to give the rest a treat.
And it turned out such that,
