I promise..
To make myself the center of my life.
It is very pathetic when your life revolves around others.
It is just like, you are living to make other people happy. What happens when others decide one day, that you are not worth having in their life?
The Alchemist
Read “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho recently, after much procrastination.
I wonder if it is my lack of understand of the topic or stupidity (aka Bimbo-ness), I did not seemed to enjoy reading the book. I find it very long-winded and at the same time, a waste of time.
The idea conveyed, according to my understanding, was that, one has to follow one’s heart’s desire so that one will not have any regrets later in life.
But, the author spent so much time talking about the different conflicts and scenarios that it bored me.
Heard many reviews about the book being fantastic and blah blah blah. I guess, it is one big disappointment in the end.
At last..
Now I know.
That I am still in the race.
2 more weeks to go.
Attica
Was at Attica last night for my faculty’s bash.
It was fun initially, with my girls and boys with me. We had so much fun playing stupid games and I tortured Sylvia with the fact that I found out her secret! Haha.
The girls left pretty early, claiming that they want to catch the last train home. I can not believe that, totally. I mean, when you come out and play, you would not be thinking of catching the last train home, right? Furthermore, they could have shared a cab since they stayed pretty near each other. Well, I guess, clubbing is not their cup of tea.
Anyway, the main point of this post is to comment that a certain guy, D, whom everyone dislikes, was trying to showoff AND get the girls drunk.
He went to everyone and announced that he purchased a bottle at his table and invited the girls over. Then, later in the evening, he went on to buy the silly juniors drinks like flaming L and stuff.
Why are they so greedy? Lusting after the few drinks, given that we all know the price to pay. Letting him grope.
Saw him on the dance floor later with another girl, and he was groping her all the time and almost pulled her top down. What the hell?!!
The girl, according to sources, was not drunk. So, Who in their right mind would allow him to do that???
Only one advice for her:
If you are going to let someone do that to you, please, at least choose someone cute/rich. Not that hideous looking thing.
Do not understand.
How can some people survive being mean to others, when the said others have been nothing but nice?
Senior’s Camp 09/10
I am back from attending senior’s camp! It was held from the 22nd May to 23rd May. However, with the programs, we could have made it a one-day affair instead. All because of all the time wasting and lousy planning.
Chief Programmer is a irritating, unreasonable and unhelpful person. The way he planned the program outline for the camp was unrealistic. The problems could be anticipated and he could have improved the situations.
One example. We had a BBQ dinner on friday. Everyone was to report at 5pm at the BBQ pit. Some people strolled in at a much later time.
He did not help things by allocating tasks to each individual groups. We had to act on our own. My group split into 2, 2 guys and I was in-charge of starting the fire while the rest were helping to prepare the food. There were 3 groups sitting around, doing nothing.
What about the CP? He was chee-honging with 2 girls. And when I asked him if it was possible to get a table from the nearby canteen to place it next to the pit?
He said: None of my business.
Throughout the dinner, I did not him do any cooking/preparing/help. All he did was eat and eat and eat.
Many things happened. But I am lazy to list out all my complaints.
My group members were fantastic, with majority from Torco. Had 2 new additions, Johnny and Min Hui. Both very willing to join us and integrate into our little family.
I can foresee many problems coming up for the camp and at the same time, many more fun moments. With my juniors and freshmen and allied factions.
Yes.
I passed.
Unsure
I don’t know what I should be doing now.
Should I go to bed since I will have a long long day tomorrow, or should i stay up and wait for my results?
I don’t really fancy knowing my results but I know people will be asking tomorrow since some are my course mates.
Oh dear, lousy lousy feeling, indeed.
Finally
I guess the numerous outings did it. I got sick. Was trying so hard not to sneeze on the train yesterday, so as not to frighten the people around me. Guess, I am too “dangerous” to go out, so cancelled my plans for the day and rest at home.
Had met up with many many friends, most of them I seems to have forgotten for the past one year. I deserve to die for forgetting such nice friends. =C
Anyway, they forgave me and gave me a chance to catch up with them.
Met up with Karen, Peng, *Er Xin* and Chris last friday for a game of Mahjong and Wii! So much laughter and fun throughout the afternoon. Won $3 from mahjong and promised to use it to treat Peng for lunch. Haha. Joke right?
Following that, met up with Sheri, Samuel and his friend, Jackson for another round of mahjong at S’s place at 10pm. He had 2 dogs that kept trying to sniff me out when I was so obviously terrified by them! Still, had a great time hanging with them and talk nonsense throughout the night.
Grandma was praying to Grandpa on sat, so everyone went down for lunch at her place. Accompanied her for a round of Mahjong (again!) of which, I won some money. Felt bad winning from old lady, but that’s the way the game is! Even if she wins me, she will not return the money. ?????
Night was spent with Wei Cong. Known him for 6 years already, but met up for less than 5 times, I think. Haha. Glad that we are still in each other’s life and somehow, I feel that I am happy that things turn out the way it is. We gossiped about so many people over dinner! Haha. Went Dbl O with him after that and had a fantastic night.
Sunday, one of the most important day of the week, FAMILY DAY! Went out with my parents to catch the NBL Men’s Division 1 finals.
Hong Ming did very well for his game, and his team got 3rd! Congrats!
The results were quite shocking.SAFSA managed to ursurp the throne from Home United, and the credits should go to all members of the team, not just a few, like what the papers said. The atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone (almost!) was rooting for SAFSA. They really did very well this season. =D
Overall, my past week had been fulfilling yet, tiring. That is why, I AM SICK!
Please let me recover soon so that I can go for my senior’s camp on friday!
Looking forward!
Happy 21st! Mabel the babe!
First of all, a very loud Happy Birthday shoutout to Mabel! Thanks for being such a good friend for the past 2 years. Though you are irritating and unreasonable, but I still love you nonetheless! Hope you enjoyed the mini-celebration just now! Anyway, went for an interview just now. M&S, temp retail sales. They offered $5/hr weekdays, $6/hr weekends. One off day a week. Totally taking me, an undergraduate, as a cheap labour. WTH! I deserve more!!! ROAR!!!! Days are passing by so fast! So is the speed of my bank withdrawals. *sigh* I really need to get my bum bum moving, else will be stuck home soon. Mabel asked me to join her for the IT show in June. Maybe I should, good experience, and quick bucks at the same time.
